About Us

The Emerald Party US is an independent, political party with a unique focus on stewardship, sovereignty and eliminating government corruption through direct political action.

We stand upon the four pillars of non-violence, ecological wisdom, justice for all, and democracy in governmental policy.

We call for the abolition of corporate citizenship exclusively in favor of human sovereignty and ecological stewardship.

With your help, we are diligently raising funds to build state affiliates, gain ballot access in 50 states and register voters.  Once we hold a convention and ratify a platform, we will apply for recognition as a national party with the  Federal Elections Commission.

Emeralds and their brilliant color have been associated with sovereignty, loyalty, peace, growth, security and the heart.  How better to name an independent political party determined to end government corruption through truth and transparency!  The color is also associated with wealth and abundance.  The government we choose must serve to make all people of America wealthier with each generation, not more and more indebted wage-slaves.  It is time for "the Jewel of Kings" to represent human sovereignty, human citizenship and human achievement for all Americans.

We particularly like one description:  "Emerald hues denote balance and support our capacity to create an equilibrium of positive emotions between our minds and our hearts.  It infuses vitality and enthusiasm by restoring depleted energy.  It nourishes our capacity for unconditional love, in both ourselves and others." --Rainbows of Light, The Psychology of Colors

Put your hand over your heart and be a part of the change.

Zac Moore

Chair

A long-time veteran of peace, human rights, labor, community, anti-corporate and environmental health campaigns, Zac served on the boards of Peace Action USA and the NY Citizens' Environmental Coalition of 112 grassroots groups. In 1992, he served as a Congressional Fellow in Congressman John Spratt's Washington office.  As a community organizer in Syracuse, NY, he helped organize the fight against the Midland Sewage Plant and write a corner store law which stands today.

In 2011, he served as a campaign manager for Howie Hawkins in a highly competitive municipal race in Syracuse, NY, losing by less than 1% with more Green Party votes cast than Democratic Party votes. In 2020, he provided research for a PAC to draft former Governor Jesse Ventura and former Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney for the Green Party Presidential primary. He personally (unsuccessfully) briefed Howie Hawkins on the false claims of the Russiagate frauds.  Disappointed with both the lack of fairness in the Green Party's primary and the destructiveness of Hawkins' poorly run campaign, in 2021, he helped found and served as the Vice Chair of the Independent Green Party US.  In 2023, he helped to found the Emerald Party US as its first Chair.

He attended the University of South Carolina's Honors College where he wrote a 160 page thesis on non-linear science and social science.  He holds a B.S. in Economics and a B.A. in International Studies.  He has completed Masters-level coursework in International Relations and Ph.D. level coursework in interdisciplinary Social Science at the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University.  He also graduated from the Daniel Pennock Democracy School (CELDF).

He is presently a funded forex trader in Savannah, Georgia, and teaches non-professionals how to decipher social mood herding on Wall Street.  He holds a Certified Market Technician (CFTe) designation from the International Federation of Technical Analysis.

Joe Oddo

Treasurer

Over 50 years of professional development has taken Oddo from hands-on blue collar work with his 24-hour truck tire service company to assisting business owners with a successful exit strategy through his Mergers and Acquisition Advisory role. In between he climbed to the top of automotive management spending a brief period on Ford Motor Company’s Lead Management Council. Then completely changed professions to further develop his public policy major as a writing and campaign management specialist.

In the early twenty-first century, Oddo co-founded the Independent Green Party of Virginia, has been on the ballot for congress four times and expects to do so again. Having relocated to Charleston, South Carolina, you’ll find Joe advocating for Instant Runoff Voting, spinning his bicycle through the urban asphalt, or breaking up his daily M&A activities in year-round backyard gardening. He is a Friend of the Library and an occasional jazz and blues sub DJ on public radio WTJU, Charlottesville.
